Organizers on EventMann can ask you to help at their events as a volunteer, and some events let you offer your help from the event page. Everything about it — your invitations, your shifts, your tasks and your thank-you ticket — is under My volunteering in your account.
What you can do here
- Answer an invitation — the organizer’s email asks “Can you help?”. Open it and choose Yes or No. You do not need an account to answer.
- Set up your account — the invitation page lets you create an account for the address the invitation was sent to. With an account you see your shifts and tasks, check in at the event and get your volunteer ticket.
- Sign up from an event page — when an event shows “Volunteer with us”, sign in and apply. The organizer accepts or declines, and you get an email either way.
- See your shifts and tasks — My volunteering lists each event you help at, your shifts with times and places, and the tasks that are yours: your own, those for a shift you work, and those left open to the whole team. Tick a task off when it is done.
- Check in and out — on My volunteering, from an hour before your shift until it ends. Your hours count from check-in to check-out.
- Get your volunteer ticket — if the organizer offers one, My volunteering links to it. Sign in with the address you volunteer with: only confirmed volunteers can buy it.
- Download your hours statement — a PDF of your recorded hours with an organizer, for a school, an employer or a scholarship application.
Good to know
- You can change your answer from the invitation link: say yes after an earlier no, or step back if you can no longer come. Stepping back frees your shifts for somebody else.
- You get an email when the organizer puts you on a shift or gives you a task, and a reminder about a day before each shift.
- Volunteering is unpaid. Your name, email address, phone number and skills are shared with the organizer so they can organise the team.
- Every invitation carries a link to stop that organizer’s invitations. Other organizers are not affected.
Troubleshooting
- My volunteering is empty — sign in with the address the invitation was sent to, and make sure that address is confirmed. Invitations are matched to your account only on a confirmed email address.
- I cannot check in — check-in opens an hour before the shift starts and closes when it ends. Ask the organizer to check you in from their rota if you arrive outside that time.
- I cannot see the volunteer ticket — it appears once you are confirmed for that event and signed in. If the event has none, the organizer has not set one up.
